Start of the Race
Tilt-shifting is a technique used by photographers to give the impression that a picture features miniature-appearing elements. By blurring the sides of the racetrack and some of the background, I was able to give the cars a toy-like appearance.

St. Marks Forbes
Tilt Shift on the forbes furniture ... photo from St. Mark's School website
Forbes is an area where students congregate during free periods, breaks and in between classes. Lessons are taught here and friendships are made here. This is the heart of St. Mark's School.

St. Mark's Soccer in the Cage
This photo is tilt-shifted in order to look like toy people playing soccer. It is originally a picture of the St. Mark's cage with two boy teams playing soccer against each other. I brightened the colors to make them look very bright like a toy, and I also blurred the top and the bottom to make the soccer players seem small and fake.

Dining Hall
This is a photo of our dining hall from the St. Marks Website. The tilt-shifing helps give it a minature model feel. I also heightened the color saturation for a "painted" effect.
The landscape of the picture and the town below were perfect for tilt-shifting. The picture was taken on the 2013 Choir trip to Italy and displays the beauty the students of St. Mark's witnessed. I thought that using a tilt-shifting effect on this photo would add emphasis on the town and focus the eye on the beauty of the architecture.

For this picture of the main building I focused on the floor and windows with the air conditioners. Then I amplified the all of the colors enhancing the effect of the blue sky and the red brick seen all around the campus. This makes the building seem as though it is a little toy structure.
